Hi all,
Today's images of comet C/2020 R4 (ATLAS) revealed that the comet sufficiently increased in brightness and
now as bright as 13.5 mag. This is much brighter than expected and also much brighter of what MPC predicts.
My latest observations of this comet were from November, 8th. I didn't post the image at that time as
I wasn't sure about a faint tail-like "structure" (still not sure today) and decided to image this comet again
later. Now the comet looks completely different with wide appr. 2.6' coma developed and relatively bright.
3 images (120 sec. each) of comet were obtained today remotely using a [T31] 0.50-m f/4.4 astrograph of SSO.

C/2020 R4將在3月12日清晨03:19從東南方地平線附近升​​起，比太陽早2小時49分鐘出現。在曙光05:13到來之前，達到仰角24度的高度，隨後消失在黎明的天色之中。

由於彗星的亮度是彌散在整個彗髪中，C/2020 R4最適合的觀察時間落在3月12日清晨5點前後數分鐘，需搭配雙筒望遠鏡或天文望遠鏡巡視東南方低空得以觀看。
