CBET nr. 4373, issued on 2017, March 13, announces the discovery of a comet (magnitude ~15) by Terry James Lovejoy on three CCD 8-s exposures taken five minutes apart starting on Mar. 9.684 UT with a Celestron C14 reflector operating at f/1.9 (+ QHY9 camera). The new comet has been designated C/2017 E4 (LOVEJOY).

New Comet C/2017 E4 (Lovejoy) arcs from eastern Sagittarius to Andromeda between now and mid-April.
The comet may brighten to magnitude +9.

Positions are plotted every 3 days at 5:30 a.m. EDT. Stars are shown to magnitude +6.5.

2017 Mar. 20.21 UT: m1=8.6, Dia.=4.5', DC=3, 20 cm SCT (100x).
[ Sidgwick method. Tycho-2 comparison stars. SQM : 20.8 at zenith.
Significantly brighter than expected. Wide and diffuse coma. Followed
for 40 min. Motion obvious. Some moonlight interference (phase 0.54).
Altitude: 13 deg. Limiting star magnitude near comet: 12.5 (APASS).
Field stars checked in DSS. Mountain location, very clear sky.].

15等是 lovejoy 發現時星星等拉

目前靠近中 , 亮度有一說最靠近時可能最亮 9 .
不過一直沒看到曲線 .
