這次變星觀測採用美國 Optec NextGEN Maxfield 0.33x 減焦修正鏡 安裝在14吋主鏡所做的實驗測光觀測.

老貓物語:圖1: 北冕座 GCVS T CrB 變星.是一顆反覆爆發的新星型變星.分光型態為 M3III +pec(NOVA). 一般最暗的星等為等級10等左右.可用8公分天文望遠鏡觀測它。 在歷史的爆發紀錄上有確認為兩起爆發! 也就是 1866年5月12日暴亮達到2.0等,1946年2月9日達到3.0等級(當年2月初發現時,在戰後因戰死或幾乎停止的日本業餘天文觀測者引起很大的熱潮,讓戰前的變光星觀測者再次團結起來. 根據最近的一篇論文,最近的爆發為1866年,亮度約達到2.5± 0.5等.
T CrB normally has a magnitude of about 10, which is near the limit of typical binoculars. It has been seen to outburst twice, reaching magnitude 2.0 on May 12, 1866 and magnitude 3.0 on February 9, 1946, although a more recent paper shows the 1866 outburst with a possible peak range of magnitude 2.5 ± 0.5.Even when at peak magnitude of 2.5, this recurrent nova is dimmer than about 120 stars in the night sky. It is sometimes nicknamed the Blaze Star.
T CrB is a binary system containing a large cool component and a smaller hot component. The cool component is a red giant which is transferring material to the hot component. The hot component is a white dwarf surrounded by an accretion disc, all hidden inside a dense cloud of material from the red giant. When the system is quiescent, the red giant dominates the visible light output and the system appears as an M3 giant. The hot component contributes some emission and dominates the ultraviolet output. During outbursts, the transfer of material to the hot component increases greatly, the hot component expands, and the luminosity of the system increases.

大溪天文台此次觀測武仙座的 GCVS R Her 變星:2021 0501 15h35m(UT) 使用兩種色光 Johnson B ,Johnson V (Johnson–Cousins filter system) 分別取得兩種色光的 GCVS R Her.
使用photometry 測定藍光和可見光,需要的USNOB B band (美國海軍天文台B光星等目錄)和 GSCdata 1.1 分別測定變星的藍色星等和可見光星等.
GCVS R Her V band=11.0mag B band=12.44mag color index B-V= +1.44. M6e type
大溪天文台取得 武仙座 R 色指數後.觀測可見光.其星等已降到11.0等(亮度變化範圍 8.2 - 15 V band) 所以色指數會隨著亮度變暗加大.若要取得觀測變星的表面溫度(凱氏溫度),可以利用 Ballesteros' formula ,將色指數帶入公式.可以得到2021 0501 當天的變星變暗 至 11.0等(v band).表面溫度也降到 約T=3800度K.
