March 10, 2014:
Event: Nova Cephei 2014 = TCP J20542386+6017077
Discovered by:福岡県 西山浩一和 佐賀県 椛島冨士夫
Discovery magnitude: unfiltered CCD magnitude 11.7, using a 105-mm f/4 camera lens + SBIG STL6303E camera
Discovery date: 2014 Mar. 8.792 UT
Coordinates: R.A. 20 54 23.75 Dec. +60 17 06.9 (2000.0)
Coordinates from Seiichiro Kiyota (Kamagaya, Japan) from his image taken Mar. 9.244 UT remotely using an iTelescope 0.15-m f/7.3 refractor near Nerpio, Spain
Spectra: Low-resolution spectra obtained by U. Munari (INAF Astronomical Observatory of Padova) and A. Milani, P. Valisa, F. Castellani, and R. Belligoli (ANS Collaboration) on 2014 Mar. 9.792 indicate Nova Cep 2014 is a highly reddened Fe II-type classical nova near maximum. Spectroscopy details may be found in CBET 3825 (see Note a below).
Observing recommendations: Observations of all types (visual, CCD, DSLR, spectroscopy) are strongly encouraged in following the evolution of this nova.
Charts: Charts for Nova Cep 2014 may be created using the AAVSO Variable Star Plotter (VSP) at
http://www.aavso.org/vsp.
