Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinnerclose (gas and faint ion tail) encounter with Heart and Soul nebulae. 1,5 total integration (separated for stars and comet) time (180 x 30 sec), Sony A7s ISO3200, Canon 200mm F1.8 (own modification), no filter,EQ8 mount, Tenerife 1180 m altitude, 2018-08-18 at 3h to 4:30h UT.

 21P/Giacobini-Zinner正在接近地球中 估計在9/10時將通過近日點，且與地球最接近至0.39AU，相當於5800萬公里，彗星亮度最亮可達亮達6~7等左右。最近一次彗星觀測報告（8/24）顯示：這顆彗星目前亮度已達7.5~8等左右，利用雙筒望遠鏡或小型望遠鏡，在沒有光害且大氣乾淨的地方都可輕易觀察到它；它現在位在鹿豹座中，接近天北極，故整夜均可見，觀測條件很好。下方21P影像為奧地利天文攝影專家Michael Jäger於8/24拍攝的結果，彼時這顆彗星正在通過Tombaugh 5疏散星團（取自Spaceweather.com網站）。
