From its brightness, we can estimate that is it about 1.1 kilometres (0.7 miles) across, orbits the Sun every 3.51 years, and is what is known as an Amor asteroid. We also know that 2002 KL6 rotates in about 4.6 hours. Asteroid 2010 NY65 was discovered on 14 July 2010 by the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) satellite. It orbits the Sun every 364.5 days, which is very similar to that of the Earth’s 365.25 days. However, the orbit of 2010 NY65 is more eccentric and more inclined than the Earth’s. We know that the asteroid is about 230 metres (0.15 miles) in diameter and came within 4.1 million kilometres (2.5 million miles) of Earth on 24 June 2016.
