XY LEO, is a binary system 166 light years away from Earth in the constellation Leo. The binary system consists of two stars that eclipse each other approximately every 7 hours. If the system were stable, eclipses would occur precisely every 7 hours. However, if we monitor this timing over time, it is easy to see that the time of the minimum (maximum of the eclipse) seems to shift by a few seconds each cycle, sometimes advancing and sometimes retarding the time of the so-called epoch.

With software such as Phoranso, you can extract the G channel.

latest SeeStar update (published this morning, v2.5) brings us Flat Frame shooting and 60 second shooting in equatorial modem as well as a few small features that are also handy, such as being able to turn off the LEDs while shooting, and also being able to select which part of the sky to do the polar alignment error measurement! - a widely requested feature from those who don't have a 360 view of the sky!

I tested everything both with my S50 and my S30 - and I demonstrate how to do it all and what you need to pay attention to if you wish to use these new features.

 

TL;DR: it all works like a charm. Make sure you're super precise with the PA if you're gonna shoot 60 second subs! Also don't do it from the city.
