Comet 41P/Tuttle-Giacobini-Kresak begins the year moving north along the Leo-Cancer border, where it's well-placed for viewing in the evening sky. Watch for the comet to brighten from about magnitude +12 in mid-January to +10 by early March. Click for a full-size, printable finder chart.

就在它最近一次靠近太阳时， 家们发现，它的自转速度突然慢了三倍。
 
这还没完，不久之后，它的转速越来越慢，最后直接反向旋转了。

但是经过分析，彗星“掉头”的原因其实非常简单：
彗星靠近太阳被加热，表面的冰被快速升华，喷射出大量气体，就像一个小型的“推进器”，硬生生把彗星扭转了方向。
